Categories & Grading Guidelines

Open for amateur club riders, junior state riders, state riders, pro riders under UCI. FTP:  > 4
Average Peloton speed (flat 40km ride):  > 40 km/h
Race Duration:  30 minute to 45 minutes max
OPEN FOR AMATEUR RIDERS. Strictly for non-state, non-pro under UCI . Non-active state and ex-pro rider are allowed to race with minimum requirement of 3 years off from SUKMA, UCI sanctioned road race. U15 – U17 junior state riders are allowed to race in this category.
FTP:  > 2.5 – 4

Race Duration:  25 minute to 40 minutes max

Nature of The Race

The organizers have an obligation to ensure that the Selangor Criterium Series is as safe as possible without diminishing the nature of the race. The nature of the race is serious and there is a risk of serious injury, damage to properties or death whilst participating in the event.

The Selangor Criterium Series follows the tradition of criterium racing where riders will race in a closed circuit involving a number of laps in a technical and fast paced manner. The races are categorized for beginners and advanced riders who wish to challenge themselves in the racing culture of cycling.

Following from the 2019 series, the Selangor Criterium Series are taking measures to use the bikeability grading system, eliminating the age format category.

Our intention is to promote a fair level of competition for riders to compete with their peers and at the same time encouraging more new riders to take part in races

REGULATIONS

rules & Regulations

  1. Only individuals with complete vaccinations are eligible to participate in the Selangor Criterium Series 2021.
  2. Participants are encouraged to participate as a team to enable them to collect team points.
  3. Each team is allowed 7 – 10 participants per race day.
  4. Each team is required to send ONE (1) Men C rider, and ONE (1) Women A or Women B rider to be considered valid.
  5. Each team may send a maximum of 7 participants in the same category per race day.
  6. The number of participants allowed in the track at one time are 100 individuals.
  7. Each participant is to register in ONE (1) valid category on their first race of the 2021 series and may not move down to a lower category throughout the 2021 series.
  8. The Technical Director of the Race has the authority to change the category of participants if necessary.
  9. Winners for each race are subject to individual timing chip assisted placements through the finish line.
  10. Team Placing Points are used to determine the overall champion team at the end of the 2021 series.
  11. The awarding of Team Placing Points are subject to individual team members’ timing chip assisted placements through the finish line.
  12. The Technical Director of the Race has the rights to amend the rules in order to ensure a safe and condusive racing environment for the continuation and development of the local racing scene.
